New Rooting Tools (1.0) for the HTC One M8 (3.28.401.9)

Here it is! Newest Rooting Tools 1.0 for the HTC One M8 3.28.401.9 system software just arrived. Don't want to flash any custom ROM but looking for a root access on your HTC One M8? No problem - it's what Rooting Tools are for! What's included?

New Rooting Tools (0.9) for the HTC One M8 (3.28.401.7)

Along with the latest Android 4.4.4 system dumps for the HTC One M8 we prepared an updated Rooting Tools 0.9 for the newest 3.28.401.7 system software. What's included?

• [boot.img] disabled ro.adb.secure and ro.secure
• [boot.img] disabled USB debugging icon on statusbar
• [boot.img] enabled USB debugging by default
• [boot.img] init.d scripts support (system/etc/init.d)
• [boot.img] removed trigger command to execute install_recovery.sh to prevent stock recovery from being re-installed after each system reboot
• latest SuperSu application (Superuser.apk) and binaries (su, daemonsu) (chainifre)
• proper init.d script to run daemonsu binary as a daemon
• special wp_mod.ko kernel module to disable HTC system RW protection (flar2)
• proper init.d script to insert the wp_mod.ko module into the kernel
• busybox
• sysrw/sysro binaries for quick system partition re-mount

Device rooted with the above method should have no problems installing latest official OTA update because:

a) OTA update checks for files integrity, but it doesn't check if any extra files were added to the system partition.
b) OTA update doesn't check the integrity of the boot.img, so you can even flash a custom kernel if you want.

Few days ago HTC has officially started rolling out the newest Android 4.4.4 update for the HTC One M8. The newest system version is tagged as 3.28.401.7 and it brings a lot of improvements system wide, including:

• improved rear camera image output, completely new edge/sharpness/noise algorithm,
• other camera improvements, including HTC's EYE experience camera features
• support for hardware video codec
• bluetooth improvements

Today HTC has officially started rolling out the newest Android 4.4.3 update (with Android 4.4.4 security fixes included) for the HTC One M8. The newest system version is tagged as 2.22.401.4 and it brings a lot of improvements system wide. Some of them we already mentioned here and here.

[LIVE-STREAM] HTC One 2014 Launch Event (London)

Only few days left until the official HTC One 2014 launch event in London will begin! The entire Android world is waiting for that moment. Let us remind you that the HTC One is known to be the best smartphone of the 2013. It won in every category it possibly could and now we are only a few days away from its successor - the HTC One 2014, also known as the HTC M8.

As we already mentioned before, Android Revolution HD will be a part of the HTC M8 launch in London. Tom (Blog Editor), Kevin (Blog Contributor) and Daniel (HTC Elevate member) will be sitting in the front row. Android Revolution Needs Your Help! Setting up new servers

Android Revolution HD for various devices has been downloaded more than 4 million times during last 3 years (from official sources). With the average of 1GB  size per ROM, that means almost 4000 terabytes of data we transferred to our users in 3 years, not to count other files (mods, kernels, fixes etc.). With such amount of data this places Android Revolution HD among the most popular custom ROMs.

This also brought us some problems – most servers we used to date can’t manage such traffic. We've also lost our androidrevolution.nl domain lately, that’s why you can’t download anything at the moment (we hope to fix that as soon as possible).

Now we need to set up some new servers and bring back download links to life. For that we’ll need some extra funds. If you’d like to contribute, please use the PayPal donation link below. We want to ensure that every time you click on the download link you’ll be able to get what you want within minutes, without waiting for hours until download is complete! It's been a great adventure since 14th November 2010, when I started my first Android Revolution HD thread. The first officially supported device was HTC Desire HD. In three years this thread reached almost 15 million visits and more than 70 thousand replies. That's probably the most popular thread on the entire XDA Developers' Forum.

I have many devices laying in my closet, so I decided to sell some of them. Every electronic device loses some of its value with each passing year. I have two options: I can sell my HTC Desire HD for some regular market price (around $150) here in my country, or I can send it outside my country, to a person who will decide to pay more as a kind of donation to support Android Revolution HD project.

The device itself is in perfect condition, fully working and without any scratches. You can see the actual pictures of the device in the gallery.

Android Revolution HD on HTC London Event

On Tuesday, February 19th, 2013 in London there is something big going to happen. We've all heard some rumors and seen leaked pictures, but there is nothing officially confirmed just yet. Our biggest expectation is to see new high-end HTC device called HTC One (HTC M7) running new user interface - HTC Sense 5.0. Maybe there is something more...

Why am I writing all this? Because I will be there, relating on live this great event. From Feb. 18th I'll be in London with HTC, counting down the last minutes to the show beginning.
