HTC One Android 4.2.2 with HTC Sense 5.1 aka HTC Sense 5.0?

There were quite a lot of rumours about upcoming HTC Sense and Android 4.2.2 update for HTC One and HTC Butterfly. All were expecting HTC Sense 5.1 to show up, but instead, the version of HTC UI in latest Android 4.2.2 update is still 5.0. However, it does have a lot of important changes. Let me introduce few of them.
1. % battery icon

Finally! The most popular modification in custom ROMs of all kind. Now you can enable it under Settings ---> Power ---> Show battery level.

2. Android EQS

HTC did a great job by incorporating Android native EQS. You can switch it by tapping on the EQS icon in the upper right corner of the notification menu.

3. Android Daydream

Another Android 4.2.2 feature included in latest HTC update.

4. Long press home button works as menu button.

It's been very popular modification in HTC One custom ROMs. Now it's by default added to Android 4.2.2 update as well.

5. Minor changes in the app drawer and dock

Now you can remove all the icons from the dock, which wasn't possible in HTC Sense 5.0 we had in Android 4.1.2. Also, after moving some particular icon to the dock, it won't be gone from the app drawer.

6. More new screenshots coming soon!

  7. Can you confirm if the lock screen bug has been fixed? If you use any app with accessibility rights enabled the lock screen unlocks at any touch and you can't deny phone calls.
    Thanks.

  9. Why did they set the Home button as menu on long press? Why not the back button? The Home button already has a long press action, whereas the back button does not. HTC apparently thinks Apple has a good thing going, using the home button for absolutely everything.

    1. Because long-press back button actually has separate functionality in certain apps, HTC were not allowed to use that option (Google said so). That's the reason it was done this way in the early builds, but later removed with the shipped software.

This actually seems like a nice compromise for me: Press back for back and home for home (obviously), double-tap home for recent apps, long-press home for menu and swipe up from home for Google Now. All of them make Sense to me ;)

    2. I don't understand that. I have never seen any app use a long press back button for anything. Can you provide an example?

If what you say is true, it explains a lot. I do remember earlier builds of sense having a long-press back button as menu and I always wondered why they left it off of the One.

    3. Long-press back in browser will bring browsing history.

    4. Long press back is kill app in vanilla android (if enabled from developer options)

    5. In settings you can enable long press back button to be menu already.....

    6. You must be using a custom ROM or kernel brah. On stock ROM and kernel, you can't map the long-press of a back button to menu.

  10. Looks like HTC is also listening (reading?) to their users... Looking forward to install ARHD 10.0.

  19. Tell the hackers/modders to find a way to remove the big bar at the bottom of the screen or to reduce it, it would make the phone 10 x better.
